#Rowing - Endurance athlete Laura Try has reached Dublin as part of her ‘Great British Row’ challenge to circumnavigate mainland Britain this summer.

Laura set out from Burnham-on-Crouch in Essex on 3 June to row clockwise some 1,800 miles around Britain in aid of homelessness charity Centrepoint.

The Essex woman, who has experienced homelessness herself, is part of a team of five rowing an €88,000-plus custom-built carbon fibre boat not unlike those seen in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge completed by Irish man Gavan Hennigan earlier this year.

Dublin marks the third pitstop on Laura’s round-Britain coastal rowing challenge so far, after the sailing hub of Cowes on the Isle of Wight and Padstow in Cornwall earlier this month.

Tomorrow (Friday 23 June) she will set off ahead of schedule for Oban in Western Scotland, before rowing the Sound of Mull and rounding Skye to read Lochinver, then around to Fraserburgh, Scarborough and a return to Essex by the end of July.
