Returning to Dublin for the second year running, the 14th annual Paddling Film Festival, in association with the RNLI, will drop in on Dublin’s Light House Cinema on Thursday 30 May.

Audiences will see exciting whitewater action, sea kayakers exploring remote coastlines, international river travel films and motivating environmental documentaries as the latest world tour stop for this international film festival.

One of the films featured, The Passage, begins in 1974 when two brothers build their own canoes and launch them into the Pacific.

They go on to become some of the first people in modern history to paddle the inside passage from Washington to Alaska in open boats. Forty-three years later, they and their sons recreate and document the journey through this pristine wilderness.

The Passage is a story about the dreams of ageing brothers, fathers and sons, and the wild places that define us.

Organisers say audiences can expect a fun, social and inspiring evening of compelling features attracting film fans from all walks of life as well as paddlers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Festival-goers will also enjoy a meet-and-greet with an RNLI lifeboat volunteer and can enter raffles to win great paddling equipment and experiences. All proceeds will go to help save lives at sea.
