#Rowing: Philp Doyle of Queen’s and Ronan Byrne of UCC won the Championship Double and Sam McKeown of Queen’s the Championship Single on the second day of London Metropolitan Regatta at Dorney Lake today. Doyle and Byrne form part of the Ireland training group at the National Rowing Centre. Tristan Orlic of Neptune also took the junior 18 singles at Dorney. Commercial competed in the Challenge Eight and won a trophy.

#Rowing: Commercial finished second to Leander in the men’s Championship Eights at London Metropolitan Regattta at Dorney Lake today. It was one of a string of good results for Irish clubs. NUIG and Tribesmen shone and teamed up to win the women’s Championship coxed four. UCC – who took second in the Championship single sculls through Ronan Byrne – also excelled. Trinity, the University of Limerick, Shandon and Castleconnell also had wins.

#Rowing: For the second day in succession, Ireland’s under-23 lightweight quadruple won at London Metropolitan Regatta. The Skibbereen/UCD/UCC/Shandon combination had 1.4 seconds to spare over Tees Rowing Club in the elite class.

 UCD and Commercial placed fourth and fifth in an eights race which included elite and intermediate crews.

 Andrew Goff won the elite lightweight single sculls. The intermediate three coxed four from Presentation College were second.

The Skibbereen/UCD/UCC/Shandon combination had 1.4 seconds to spare over Tees Rowing Club. The crew is Fintan McCarthy, Shane O’Connell, Stephen O’Connor and Colm Hennessy

#Rowing: Andrew Harrington won the intermediate one single sculls at London Metropolitan Regatta at Dorney Lake today. The UCC man was also fourth in the senior single.

The Ireland under-23 lightweight double finished fifth in the combined elite/senior event. They were the fastest senior crew.
