The National Yacht Club’s Saoirse Reynolds has continued her winning streak in the UK over the Easter Holidays by scoring first place in the inaugural race of the season run by SORC (Solo Offshore Racing Club) for single and double-handed sailors. She raced with Kate Cope aboard her boat “Purple Mist” which is the latest Series 2 Sunfast 3200.

Cope runs the UK double-handed offshore series and is heavily involved in the Magenta Project, where she met her crewmate Reynolds.

The Magenta Project is a mentoring programme that accelerates women in performance sailing.

Reynolds's next goal is to take part in a competitive attempt at the Round Ireland Race aboard her home port boat Aurelia to add to her impressive performances abroad, including, completing the RORC Caribbean 600 earlier this year aboard “Taz” the Reichel Pugh X-Treme 37, a sister ship of the new DBSC racer “WOW”.

Her action-packed season continues back in the UK later this season, with the RORC St Malo Race double-handed aboard Gavin Howe’s Channel 32 “Wavetrain”, followed by the Original Lonely Rock Race.
