The return of a cruiseship schedule at Warrenpoint Port since the pandemic, is to take place with the first caller this season due to arrive tomorrow, 28 June.

The Co. Down port is to see the debut of the World Navigator, a premium, small luxury expedition ship from Atlas Ocean Voyages. The call is part of a London to Dublin cruise.

According to the Port, the ships will generally be scheduled to arrive between 7.30am and 8.30am and for anyone who wishes to watch out for their arrival on Carlingford Lough.

The cruiseships will be docked for one day on each occasion as passengers get the chance to enjoy local tours or spend time in Warrenpoint and the surrounding area.  Also on hand to welcome guests will be Newry, Mourne and Down District Council (NMD) Tourism.

This is the first of three visits this summer facilitated by Armagh Logistics and Hamilton Shipping.

On Friday 5th August, Warrenpoint will welcome the largest of the expected vessels, The Azamara Pursuit which in 2018, under its previous ownership, was then the largest cruise ship ever fitted out in Belfast at the Harland & Wolff shipyard.

The fit out was carried out by the locally headquartered cruise ship outfitting firm, MJM Marine based in Newry.

A repeat visit of the World Voyager is due to arrive on 18th August as part of a 17-day cruise itinerary.
