The Cork Head of the River on Saturday (February 29th) is set to go ahead. The rowing event is scheduled for the Marina in Cork, and it may be able to deal better with the recent bad weather than some other venues.  Three hundred and fifteen crews are entered for Cork Head. There will be a rolling head between 9.15 and 1.45, with an entry of 163 crews. The other heads will start in this order:

1 - 09:00 - 15 crews

2 - 10:00 - 29 crews

3 - 11:00 - 32 crews

4 - 12:00 - 20 crews

5 - 13:00 - 24 crews

We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven't put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full-time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
