Stirring Wins for Irish at Henley

Dave Mannion of NUIG got through the first round in the prestigious Diamond Sculls at Henley yesterday when he beat Hugh Mackworth-Praed with a late sprint. NUIG’s visitors’ four and the London/Old Collegians quadruple scull also won. An Irish crew which was seeded, Galway RC/Skibbereen were beaten, however, and Queen's University were beaten in the Temple Cup.
