Diver Airlifted To Hospital After Rathlin Island Search

20th July 2015

#Diving - A diver was airlifted to hospital yesterday (Sunday 19 July) after going missing off Rathlin Island, as the News Letter reports.

RNLI crews from Scotland joined lifeboats from Portrush and Red Bay along with Irish Coast Guard teams in the search off the Antrim coast for the missing man, who was found some four miles from his original position two hours after the alarm was raised.

According to BBC News, the casualty was taken to Craigavon Area Hospital as a precaution because it is equipped with a decompression chamber.

His condition was last reported as stable. BBC News has more on the story HERE.
