Marine tourism businesses will be among those eligible to apply for grants of up to €200,000 under a new scheme to help the sector ‘survive to thrive’ during the coronavirus pandemic.
As TheJournal.ie reports, the €55m Tourism Business Continuity Scheme will be administered by Fáilte Ireland and opens for eligible businesses on Thursday 11 February.
Fáilte Ireland chief executive Paul Kelly says the scheme – which is similar to one launched in Scotland for the marine and adventure tourism sector – is designed to support firms that were not eligible for the Covid Restrictions Support Scheme, and as many as 1,600 business could benefit.
