The 'Great Lighthouses of Ireland' (see story) brought to you by Irish Lights, invites you to celebrate long summer days by following your very own lighthouse trail and be in with a chance to win a 7-night lighthouse road trip

This summer, embrace the elements on a breath-taking journey across your pick of Great Lighthouses of Ireland experiences. Dotted around our coastline, there are a host of unique things to do at our fascinating visitor attractions from lighthouse tower tours to charming overnight accommodation and even exciting boat trips!

Simply visiting a Great Lighthouses of Ireland site this summer could put you in a draw to win this great prize. During your visit, just take a photo and share with us on Instagram using #MyLighthouseTrail and tagging @greatlighthouses

Launching the competition, Chair of Great Lighthouses of Ireland, Bobby Kerr said: “This is a great way to do summer, with lots of lighthouse experiences dotted around our beautiful coastline, I would encourage everyone to plan and create their lighthouse trail and discover the best of our maritime heritage, wildlife and amazing nature. So take to the road, start exploring, take those photos and share with us on Instagram!”

The Prize

The lucky winner will enjoy a specially curated, 7-night stay and self-drive tour across three lighthouses which includes:

  • 7 nights’ accommodation at 3 different lighthouses
  • Access to Great Lighthouses of Ireland visitor attractions, tours and boat trips
  • Recommendations at each location and behind-the-scenes tours of hidden towers, walking routes and activities from our amazing StoryKeepers
  • Lots of surprises and hidden gems as our lighthouse hosts share their favourite recommendations along the way

Irish Lighthouses

Irish Lights is a maritime organisation delivering essential 24/7 safety and navigation services around the coast of Ireland 365 days. Its focus is reliable and cost-effective services which protect people, property and the marine environment, and support marine industry and coastal communities.

Irish Lights is responsible for providing marine aids to navigation under the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) convention. This remit includes: providing and maintaining over 300 general aids to navigation, managing about 4,000 local aids to navigation and marking or removing dangerous wrecks outside harbour areas around Ireland. Irish Lights also provides contract commercial services for ship charter, buoy and marine data services and supports tourism and heritage activities.
