#Diving - As Limerick-raised entrepreneur Greg Wixted prepares to open the first of a new chain of diving resorts in Gran Canaria, he tells the Limerick Post that he hopes to someday bring the business to the Wild Atlantic Way.

“My vision would be to open one in Kilkee, where I spent my summers as a child and the diving off the west coast is some of the best in Europe,” says the co-proprietor of Blue Explorers, which will welcome its first guests for diving and adventure sport in May.

Ireland is a key market for his burgeoning dive business, says Wixted, who adds that 15% of bookings so far have come from Irish holidaymakers.

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven’t put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full–time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
