Flying the Flag for Ireland at the Fireball Worlds in Pwllheli

#fireballworlds – Best of the Irish at the Fireball World Championships in Pwllheli so far is Barry McCartin and Conor Kinsella in 15th overall. Yesterday's second day provided fantastic conditions especially race 2 which was champagne sailing ; no rain and even some sign of sun!

There was tough racing right throughout the fleet and at every level.  The start line was 'tighter than ever' and oxygen in short supply if you got starts or first approach to the windward mark wrong. Results so far reflect the high standards of this fleet rather than any poor sailing by the Irish participants., according to the fleet's facebook page. Experience sailing large fleets definitely an advantage here.

A good wind is forecast today with a first gun 10.55. Its an early start to allow for a black tie dinner tonight at Pwllheli tonight.
