#420worlds – The two Irish boats competing at the 2015 420 Worlds in Karatsu, Japan, this week, turned in solid results yesterday to make the cut-off for Gold Fleet racing.
Following the last race of the qualification series in the morning, the Gold-Silver fleet split took place, and all fleets completed the first two races of the Final Series. This means that racing, disrupted by poor conditions early in the week caused by Typhoon Nangka, is now back on schedule.
Meanwhile organisers watch weather forecasts to see whether the advancing Typhoon Halola will impact on the last two race days.
In the Ladies Gold fleet, top place is held by Spain's Garrido / Davila, with Irish team Lizzy and Cara McDowell in 19th position overall.
Leading the Open Gold fleet are Japan's Kato / Noshinaga, with Irish duo Douglas Elmes / Colin O'Sullivan also taking 19th place.
