More from Henri Lloyd - with Atmosphere
As we reported yesterday, Henri Lloyd have launched several new lines – all of which are being put through their paces by one or all of the following: Shirley Robertson (double Olympic gold medallist), Ben Ainslie (triple Olympic gold medallist), Bernard Stamm (Velux 5 Oceans champion), Pete Cumming (Extreme 40 skipper), and Tom Cunliffe (cruising adventurer). Today we're featuring the versatile Atmosphere 360 range; rated highly among the more athletic classes. More over the fold...

The highly successful Atmosphere 360 collection is the most versatile because it ranges from jackets to fleeces to vests, all designed to provide crossover uses in all aspects of marine activity and other high activity sports. The range has been developed further to provide a breathable, high-stretch, quick-drying dual purpose system that also offers UV protection from the sun’s harmful rays, say Henri Lloyd.

The next to skin collection within the Atmosphere 360 range comprising the Atmosphere, Atmosphere 2, and Atmosphere 3, are designed to wear either independently in warm conditions, or as the base in a layering system in sailing and other high activity sports.

All three Atmosphere products are made of a highly durable, extremely lightweight, easy care, multiple layer Fast-Dri fabric to help wick away moisture from the skin, leaving the athlete dry and comfortable over prolonged periods. The UV protection guide on all Henri Lloyd products are rated 30-50 based on the ‘Aussie Rules’ method, (a sliding scale from 0-50), and all benefit from flat lock seams for increased comfort. From the top:

untitled-1.jpgAtmosphere: Is the entry level product in the range using a double-layer Fast-Dri system of fabric construction which provides the all important high wicking qualities, whilst also being breathable. Available in long sleeve or short sleeve and in all sizes including a women’s fit.

untitled-2.jpgAtmosphere 2: Has underarm mesh panels to aid breathability, and a third, high-wicking layer within the construction of the fabric to accelerate moisture evaporation. One of the most interesting features of this product for the active sailor is the Silver Ion Anti Microbial technology used in the Fast-Dri fabric which repels bacteria and helps reduce body odour when the garments are used for prolonged periods of activity.

untitled-3.jpgAtmosphere 3: This is the ideal product for use as the base layer in Henri Lloyd’s cold weather layering system. In edition to the 3-layer high wicking construction, it incorporates a brushed inner layer to increase its thermal properties, whilst also being breathable and high-wicking. The Silver Ion Anti Microbial technology helps keep the garment fresher for longer.

After prolonged use during the iShares Cup Extreme 40 Series, Shirley Robertson – double Olympic Gold Medallist – said: “The iShares Extreme 40 Sailing Series was the perfect test bed for Henri Lloyd’s new Atmosphere 2 Crew. The high wicking and breathability qualities of the t-shirt are fundamentally important for such an aerobic class. Also, being exposed to the elements, often for lengthy periods under the midday sun, the UV protection is increasingly important. And because we tend to use these particular products for the duration of a regatta, the silver ion technology keeps us all smelling squeaky clean for days!”
