The Alexela ORC World Championships took place from August 6 – 14, 2021, in Tallinn, Estonia.

Key Yachting Irish agent, Mark Mansfield, is delighted to congratulate Essential 44 for winning her Class at the 2021 ORC worlds at Tallinn, Estonia, which finished last Sunday week.

At the same Regatta, the J112e Matilda 4 won Class C. Key Yachting is the UK and Irish agents for Both Grand Soleil and J Boats. The result for the Grand Soleil follows on from her sister ship, Samatom, owned by Bob Rendell from Howth, winning her IRC class at the recent Sovereigns Cup in Kinsale. It shows that these new Matteo Polli designs are fast in Both IRC and ORC handicap systems.

The J112e result follows up on similar designs finishing first and third in Class at the 2021 Cowes Week Regatta.

Unlike many of the designs at the ORC Worlds, both the Grand Soleil 44 and the J112e have fully fitted and luxurious interiors for cruising purposes.

Both models will also be on display at the 2021 Cannes Boat Show from the 7th to the 12th of September. Contact us to arrange an appointment to view either.

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven’t put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full–time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
