Welcome to the afloat.ie forum, providing Irish sailing with a more open environment for discussion than is available in the printed magazine or on the website or elsewhere.

 

Our aim is not to censor or control opinions, but we will ensure that the forum rules and policies are respected. If asked, you will yield to the requests of the forum moderators or administrators. We reserve the right to delete posts and ban users at our discretion, without prior notice and without entering into any correspondence. The rules below are been developed to avert potential problems and updated as needed and as we see fit.
You agree not to use this forum to post any material which is vulgar, defamatory, inaccurate, harassing, hateful, threatening, invading of others privacy, sexually oriented, or violates any law. You also agree that you will not post any copyrighted material that is not owned by yourself or the owners of these forums.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless this forum and their agents with respect to any claim based upon any post you may make. We also reserve the right to reveal whatever information we know about you in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by yourself.

Although messages posted are not the responsibility of this forum and we are not responsible for the content or accuracy of any of these messages, we reserve the right to delete any message for any or no reason whatsoever. If you do find any posts are objectionable then please contact the forum by e-mail.

THE SIN-BIN RULE
If the moderators see fit to edit or delete your posts three times within a week, based on the rules below, you will incur a one-week ban from posting. This is non-negotiable. Further transgressions will lead to longer bans.
Rules:
User names should preferably be your own name, which provides greater validity to your comments. However, nicknames are permitted, but they shall not be obscene or that of another person.

Place post in correct category, and keep replies within the realm of the original posting. Moderator may move incorrectly placed posts to their correct category, or delete them if they are found to be inappropriate.
