OK I am NOT being Sectarian or Racist when I ask this.
Is there a format or set of criteria for people from Northern Ireland to Sail for the Republic of Ireland at the Olympics? As far as I am aware there is an RYA NI which provides coaching and training from the RYA budget would this not make NI sailors part of the UK?
There are exceptional Sailors from north of the border sailing with Ireland at the moment and I mean no disrespect them. It is just genuine curiosity.

I didn't know that. When I saw the tricolour on boats and flag pools I thought it was just the republic

You may want to talk to Bill O'Hara. He has experience of this question both as an Olympic sailor and as an international race official.
